Port Perry Canadian Tire rolls out a fun prize for the town’s new Junior Fire Chief

November 07, 2022

Every year, the fire department in Scugog, ON hosts a competition to educate young people about fire safety and prevention. Kids are asked to draw a poster explaining their fire prevention plan, and the winner is crowned Scugog’s Junior Fire Chief. This year’s winner, Bryson, not only received the title but also a great prize from the local Canadian Tire.

Bryson’s poster, which highlighted potential fire and smoke hazards as well as a home evacuation plan, impressed all the judges. For his efforts, the team at Port Perry’s Canadian Tire (located at 14325 Simcoe Street) was proud to award Junior Fire Chief Bryson with a new bicycle that perfectly matched his sneakers.

For several years, the Canadian Tire in Port Perry has been partnering with the Scugog Fire Department during Fire Prevention Month, and has offered its assistance to all local Emergency Services whenever there is need in the community. In recognition of their ongoing efforts, the fire department recently awarded the store with a Community Partner Certificate.
